Sita Sings the Blues is an animation that tells the ancient Hindu story of Ramayana. The way in which the story is told and portrayed has some unique quirks that I haven’t come across in the animations that I’ve seen. The narration almost made me feel as though I was listening to a podcast. Multiple characters recalling the story among themselves as each characters chimes in to correct the others' recollection.  It gave the animation almost an informal tone; I’m not sure if this was done for that reason or if it was done to account for the conflicting adaptations of the original story. I’m not quite sure why the writer decided to incorporate the blues music into the Hindu story. I understand that the subject matter of the blues music aligned with the story, however, the same thing could be achieved with just about any genre. I wonder why blues music was the choice of the soundtrack and why did it play such a huge role in the story.
